Berlin Opens Bengaluru Office to Tap India’s Tech Talent Pool
Berlin has launched its third international office in Bengaluru after New York and Beijing, with a sharp focus on attracting India’s tech talent. The move underscores the German capital’s ambition to bolster its innovation ecosystem by tapping into Bengaluru’s deep pool of skilled professionals.
“We want our presence here continuously, and this office will facilitate talent migration to Germany,” Mayor of Berlin and Senator Franziska Giffey told Deccan Herald during the inauguration on March 18, 2026.
The Berlin Business Office India, based at the Indo German Chamber of Commerce, is designed to streamline the process for Indian tech professionals seeking opportunities in Berlin. Giffey highlighted the city’s rapid growth as a global tech hub, with 6,000 startups and a workforce of over 100,000. “Ten years ago, we had 2,000 Indians in Berlin; now we have 45,000,” she said, emphasizing the increasing demand for Indian expertise in Berlin’s fintech, healthtech, and gaming sectors.
The office will act as a bridge, connecting Indian tech talent with Berlin’s thriving startup scene. By fostering collaboration between the two cities, Berlin aims to address its skilled labor shortages while strengthening its position as a leader in technology and innovation. Amrita Gandikota, Chief Representative of the Berlin Business Office India, will lead efforts to promote cross-border talent migration and innovation exchange.
With Bengaluru’s reputation as the “Silicon Valley of India” and Berlin’s growing appeal to global tech professionals, the partnership is poised to reshape the Indo-German tech landscape.
