mika Raises €800,000 to Simplify Bureaucracy for Small Businesses
mika, a Berlin-grown generative AI startup, has successfully closed an €800,000 pre-seed investment round to accelerate the development of its AI-driven tools designed to tackle bureaucracy and financial admin for small companies.
The round was led by Samen Slimmer, an investment alliance that includes Keen Venture Partners, DFF, and Slimmer AI. Early angel investors—Christian Gaiser, Alexander Lorenz, and Fabian Wittleben—had already supported mika in its first development stages.
Founded in 2022 by CEO Agnieszka M. Walorska, mika focuses on building autonomous AI agents that help with tasks like bookkeeping, tax filing, and financial planning. The startup believes that these features can make financial management easier and more affordable for small businesses that struggle with complex documentation and costly professional services.
Walorska, who built her first company as a migrant entrepreneur, says she knows the pain of bureaucracy firsthand. She describes mika’s mission as giving every small business access to a kind of KI-CFO—a smart assistant that handles routine admin so owners can focus on growth and innovation.
The €800,000 will go toward enhancing the company’s AI-powered bookkeeping and tax co-pilot tools, with a current focus on scaling within the €10 billion German small business finance market. The funds will also support further product development and possible international expansion in the future.
